Starbase and Starship Launch Viewing
Understand how Starship launch notices, Boca Chica road closures, beach access, and private tours differ before planning a Starbase visit.
A launch notice is not an access guarantee
SpaceX lists missions on its official launch page. A posted mission or test does not guarantee a launch on a particular day, public viewing, or open access to Boca Chica Beach and State Highway 4.
The City of Starbase publishes its own beach and road status. Check it separately from SpaceX mission information. The city can close the beach and a stretch of State Highway 4 during spaceflight activity.
Public roads and private operations
This guide covers public viewing and access planning. It does not provide entry to SpaceX production or launch facilities. Follow all city notices, checkpoints, and posted instructions.
A private operator in Brownsville, Rocket Ranch, advertises Starbase tours by appointment. Its website lists the business at 43742 Palmito Hill Road in Brownsville. Confirm dates, prices, route, and tour scope directly with the operator. This is a business listing, not a claim of SpaceX or City endorsement.
Add South Padre Island to the trip
When Boca Chica access is closed, the City of Starbase lists South Padre Island beach accesses as alternatives. South Padre Island is also a separate place to plan lodging and other visitor activities.
