Access comes first
Check the City's beach and road notices before departure. Beach status and planned road movements are separate items. This page does not report live opening status.
Check the land manager
Do not treat the entire coast as one park with one set of permissions. Public road access, beach rules and refuge land are distinct. On refuge property, use designated access and follow the refuge rules; camping is prohibited there. This guide does not give blanket permission to camp or drive across the beach.
Prepare before the final drive
Bring water and sun protection, and arrange meals and supplies before leaving the gateway towns. The City says Starbase has no publicly accessible businesses or amenities. Gateway services lists nearby options.
